I am a nurse for a home health agency, and I go to patients homes and give them an assessment to see how they are managing their medical issues at home. Sometimes a patient can take a turn for the worse quickly, so I carry several important tools in my medical bag. I always check their blood pressures and pulses, and I also carry Pulse Oximeters so that I can check to see if the patient is getting enough oxygen. If they aren’t, then I have to start them on some oxygen or I have to call an ambulance and have them taken to the hospital. Time is crucial in an emergency!
